After years and years of thinking about it, talking about it, planning about it, and yes — bitching and moaning about it — I formed my own bankruptcy practice, Tulsa Bankruptcy and Consumer Law, P.C.
So what’s so different about it?
Let me let you, dear readers, in on my deepest, darkest marketing secret. Are you ready for this?
OK, here it is: [sotto voce] I return phone calls. All of them. Everyday.
Yep, I do. I know it’s unheard of. I know it’s uncharted territory for most lawyers. I even know a bunch of good reasons why lawyers don’t return calls. I used to complain (whine) about how I couldn’t possibly return all my phone calls. I could explain it: how clients don’t leave detailed messages (or better yet, use email), or how we lawyers have to do 15 minutes of research to return each call, and why that was unreasonable or impossible to accomplish.
But when I decided to remake the practice of consumer bankruptcy law, I firmly resolved to chuck all my preconceived notions and start from the ground up. In other words, “Just do it.”
